Eligibility and Frequently Asked Questions
When is the right time for hospice care?
The criteria for admission is a life expectancy of six months or less. However, rather than initiating services too early, most people wait far too long before engaging hospice. If you’re thinking hospice may be an option, you are probably correct. The expertise of hospice is best maximized over a period of months rather than days.
Is hospice right for my loved one?
Consider the patients’ symptoms and the recommendations of your doctor. Hospice is NOT about giving up. Hospice is about giving priority to comfort rather than cure.
What if I live in an assisted living/nursing home?
In addition to a person’s private residence, Capstone Hospice’s services can be provided at a variety of locations, including senior living communities and personal care homes.
Will insurance cover my hospice care?
Most insurance plans cover hospice care with little or no out-of-pocket expense, and hospice is covered 100% by both Medicare and Medicaid. Our services are not restricted by ability to pay.
